I knew it!

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

I’m just about to go over the 30,000 word target for Nice Girl Naughty. So, as to not wreck the story, I’m not going to reign my lovers in until they are good and ready. *grin*. New word count expected is between 33,000-35,000 words.

Here’s the current blurb I’m working with:

Nice Girl Naughty

Jan Springer

Someone is murdering female artists and Summer Colby is smack in the killer’s crosshairs. Blind since her teens, Summer is a famous erotic wood carver specializing in body art designs. When she barely escapes an attempt on her life, family friend and professional bodyguard Nick Cassidy vows to keep her safe.

Hiding together in a secluded Canadian cabin, she’s captivated by Nick’s thick, powerful muscles, firm abs and those hard, yummy male body parts. It doesn’t take long before he’s making love to her up against the wall and they’re burning up the sheets.

Bodyguard Nick Cassidy has been working overseas for many years. He hasn’t seen Summer since the last time he chickened out in telling her he loved her. When he discovers she’s a passionate woman sizzling with untapped sexual energy, he’s sweeping this sexy redhead into an erotic filled world they’ve both craved to experience. But what Nick and Summer don’t realize is their hideout isn’t safe – until it’s too late.

Here’s who I am using as inspiration for my heroine, Summer Colby.

(She’s Melanie from Days)

May go over my target…

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

I’m at 27,000 words with Nice Girl Naughty and I may end up going over my target of 30,000 words. Lordy! Lordy! What to do? What to do?

What I did learn during this NaNo month is that I do better when I have a deadline to work toward. Also if I put my butt in this chair on a more regular basis I could write a whole lot more. Discipline is the key!!! Now I just have to figure out how to discipline myself when I can’t even stop myself from taking in stray cats! *grin*

NaNo at 24,500…three days left!

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Yikes! There are only three days left to hit my target of 30,000 words!!! I have the feeling the story may be longer than I had first thought though. Oh dear! I will try to keep it in the target range. But you know how characters are when they want to tell the story their own way. *grin*

Ciao for now!

Another slooooowwww day for NaNo…

Nice Girl Naughty sitting at 23,000 words.

Had another slow day today – had to run some errands and it put me waaay behind. Tomorrow might be the same story as I head off to visit a friend who just found out she has skin cancer. She had the spot burned off and they tell her the cancer was a result of the sun…funny though, she says that particular part of her body was never exposed to the sun…hmmmm. But she needs a friend to chat with and I always enjoy her company. :-)

Hmmm, rest of edits for Sweet Heat haven’t materialized yet. Getting worried.

Slow Day today for Nice Girl Naughty…

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Stopping at 22,000 words today. I thought it would get easier in the love scenes but it is getting more intense and slower! Eiiiiiii! I do love the way Nice Girl Naughty is going though. Lots of hot loving.

Here’s something I picked up at http://www.glassgiant.com

Was diagnosed today with having the H1N1 flu last month…the dr. gave me a higher dose of puffer saying the flu gave me this complication…grrrr. So I’ll be puffing for two more weeks. I hate being dependent on drugs.

NaNo 19,900 words and counting…

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

guychestNice Girl Naughty is now 19,900 words! Oh my goodness! I have discovered my weakness is to continuously go back and edit stuff I’ve written instead of going full steam ahead…but I just can’t seem to get any mistakes out of my head until I go back and fix things…grrrrr. Verrrrrry interesting. And when I fix the booboos I can go ahead again. I wonder how many other people have this problem.

This spot is a short walk from my place. The road leads to several ponds and hiking trails so there is always something to do when one has writer’s block. *grin*

I must be getting old(er) as I’m going to bed earlier and getting up with the sun. Here’s one of the sunrises I was greeted to on an exceptionally chilly morning…

kissing

Sitting at 18,100 words for Nice Girl Naughty. My heroine is about to get what she’s always wanted from the man she’s secretly loved for years…woooot!

Had to take care of some home stuff at my parents house too. Cleaned out the lint from the dryer pipes. Hardly anything there. Last time I had checked it was four years ago so we must be doing something right.

After getting all the pipes together, I put a load of some wet stuff into the dryer…I noticed it was doing alot of rattling but didn’t think much about it. Later on I discovered the fuse had blown. Checked in the fusebox and found the fuse all black – I am talking all black -with an electrical smell…looked like some burning was going on. The wire and plug looked okay but my folks want the electrician called in on Monday…wiring in house is old and has never had a check up in the forty years I’ve been here. Time to get things checked out, yes?
